About Us

 Ian’s career as an appraiser began in 1999 with his CRA Designation being granted in 2006.  

Progressive Appraisal Services Inc.  was founded shortly thereafter in 2008.  

Prior to entering the appraisal field Ian had considerable experience in the construction world and operated  his own general contracting business.  Coupled with his knowledge of construction and his fascination with real estate, this move to appraising was a natural progression. Ian  is also a licensed realtor with LSTAR but his main focus is on appraising.   As president of Progressive Appraisal Services Inc. he has put together a team of enthusiastic appraisers that are eager to service our clients in a timely, professional and highly competent manner.

Kay has been appraising since 2005, earning her CRA designation in 2014.  A prior (20 year) career as a litigation law clerk together with her appraisal experience gives her a unique skill set for matrimonial appraisals (independent and collaborative) and expert witness appraisals.

Kay prides herself on serving her clients with quality appraisal services in a timely fashion.  She also oversees the work of candidate appraisers in the firm, offering mentorship and guidance in the day to day activities of an appraiser in the ever-changing real estate market.

Josh has been working with Progressive Appraisals since 2018.

  He is a seasoned real estate veteran with a background in residential and commercial mortgages.  He is also a licensed real estate agent.

Josh is very familiar with today's fast-paced real estate market, and enjoys researching data from different sources to support his valuation reports, and to identify trends within the industry.  Josh also enjoys discussing real estate with his clients, and has an overall focus of helping them achieve their real estate goals.   

Josh has a Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University, and is currently one step away from becoming a CRA designated appraiser with the Appraisal Institute of Canada.

Cass is the most recent addition to the Progressive Appraisal team.   

Cass is a Candidate Member of the AIC and began her career with our firm in November 2020. Over the past several months, she has gained a wealth of knowledge in this ever changing market, with the help and expertise of our firm. Cass is working towards her Bachelor's degree in Social Science and Economics at the University of Ottawa and is to graduate in the fall of 2022. With a background in real estate as a mortgage agent, she has a passion and understanding of the real estate industry.
